APPRENTICE PROGRAM

At Salon Barberet, we believe the best hairstylists are developed through mentorship, hands-on experience, and continuous education. Our apprenticeship program is designed to give aspiring hairstylists the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals in a busy, high-end salon environment.

We currently have four Board-approved stylists who are certified to train apprentices, and our salon is fully registered with the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Apprenticeship Program. Each apprentice is paired with a dedicated mentor and works directly alongside that stylist, receiving personalized, one-on-one training every day.

Apprentices work the minimum required weekly hours while earning at least California minimum wage and attend a State Board-approved apprenticeship school every Monday. This combination of classroom education and real-world salon experience allows apprentices to immediately apply what they learn behind the chair.

Unlike traditional cosmetology school alone, our program offers constant hands-on education. Apprentices assist with real salon guests while learning shampooing, blowouts, styling, color application, color formulation, color theory, consultations, salon professionalism, and advanced techniques. They also receive ongoing practice with models to continue building confidence and technical skills.

Our goal isn’t simply to help apprentices complete the required hours—we are committed to developing confident, highly skilled hairstylists who are prepared for long-term success. Many of the talented professionals working in salons today began their careers through the Salon Barberet Apprenticeship Program, and we are proud to continue investing in the next generation of hairdressers.
